We conquered Middle-earth in a day when we hiked the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, heralded as the best one-day trek in New Zealand. This landscape houses Mount Ngauruhoe, better known as Mount Doom to our fellow Lord of the Rings fans. It’s one of our favorite excursions during our month-long camper trip through the majestic country.

Sits slightly above waist like an old fashion trouser which is hard to find these days but tapers perfectly to toward the ankle.
